confused - lost tools when upgrading

I upgraded from 20 to 21 and now I dont have all my editing tools and I am super confused. I have lost the clone, mask etc...any one else lose their tools? I upgraded without paying (it was an option) and I didnt have them... so I PAID again for the upgrade and I still dont have them... Not sure what to do. Thanks

    never mind- i figured out I needed to switch my license code...which also means I probably didn't need to buy it ugh
