    Rainer,

You should be able to customize the toolbar.

By Default (as installed) I don't think the Icon is included but you can easily add it.

If you previously added the icon but did not save the changed workspace with your own name for it it will have been overwritten during the update.

If you did save the change with your won name for the workspace it may just be that you are running with the newly created "Default" workspace rather than your saved personal workspace after the update.

    Hi,

In the previous version when I made the first time Proofing it was just there ... I never added anything.

This software packages requires everyday to be more and more a programmer and where is the time left for processing ones own images ?

WOW ... This is getting a bigger nuisance every day ...

Did you previously have V20 installed at some point? As I recall the default of having the Proofing icon visible changed to not immediately visible at some point with V21 but it might have been V20.1 a year ago.

I have no knowledge about why the change was made but I assume it was because users suggested it was not needed as a default. Or possibly people were using it all of the time and experiencing performance issues or confusion from what they were seeing as they edited and so it may have been considered sensible to make it invisible for the default workspaces.

But is it really a new problem every day? Unlike some operating systems and many mobile device apps C1 does not receive unannounced overnight updates.

And as for complications - there seem to be as many people thinking the software is not complicated enough as there are people who fear it may be getting too complex.

That must make it a challenge to be a C1 Product Manager.

    Rainer,

You are clearly distressed for some reason.

Probably a good time to take a break from your computer?

Maybe you too and rethink how you answer a customers question ?

Oh and by the way do you have a name Mr S.... F.... A.... ?

You are not, as far as I am aware, a customer of mine.

We are just users of the same software and this is a User to User forum, mostly.

This forum facility is hardly an official personal support channel.  For that you need to use the "Submit a request" facility to create a personal  Support Case which will be managed by email.

Maybe one of the social media options would be more appealing to you?

    OK,

Apologies to you, but why do you search for excuses for Capture One ? Let them do it ...

We pay loads of money and then some people defend them ...

    Strange world ...

    Apology accepted.

I think the problem that C1 (and all other developers) face is that people, in general, either want change or do not want change. That makes it impossible to do the right thing for everyone in one update.

A lot of work seems to go into ensuring some continuity for those who wish for it whilst making the product maybe a little closer to what potential new users expect to see. Sometimes the change may be more to do with what the developer wants to happen for whatever reason.

Today I received a reminder that a version of some (non-photography related) software I have used for many years will have a "hard" end of life at the end of this month. As it is subscription-based it means that version will stop working.

It's a version the current owner inherited when they purchased the original vendor. 2 versions later they run subscription only on their own activation servers. The older version ran on a third party server. It is being taken out of service.

The version being killed off was current up until about 3 years ago. Maybe released 4 years ago. Business data analysis stuff. I suspect users might anticipate a somewhat longer life span.

I have not been very active with it recently. It can go for now. I have older, non-subscription versions that will be enough for my personal needs until such time as the systems they run on break in some way.

By then it may not matter. However it does, in effect, kill off a business I am involved with since the new licensing approach would be unaffordable for the purposes of that business.

It seems that this is called progress.

By comparison, changing a UI so that a previously default option should now be added back and personalised workspace saved to future continuation does not seem to be too bad. Especially if it was the result of user suggestions.

It would be nice if all changes were documented in micro detail  - but then I remember that few, if any, people read documentation.
