Do I need to upgrade to newer version in order to get the support for new lenses?

    Yes and no.

    NO if the new lens support is added to a version update, version X.1
    for example, the update is free and so the lens support.

    YES if the support is part of a full version.

    It also depends on the lens and camera manufacturer.

    If the manufacturers have included correction information (as is most often the case with new lenses these days) you should in most cases see "Manufacturer Profile" in the lens information. If the manufacturers have done their job well that work should be expected to offer almost all of the correction required in most cases. 

    Edge sharpness and light falloff may be the only lens profile adjustments that they do in a way that C1 might have facilities that can offer improvements based on usage and need.

    There do seem to be some exceptions for some new lenses that, for some reason, seem to lack Manufacturer profiles or the detection of them if they should exist.
