Can't import files

Ever since yesterday my ability to import files into Capture One 21 has stopped. Error message; no valid selection. Re installed Capture One, checked access, made sure none of the files are locked, program registered, alas I have access to everything in the catalogue but am incapable of adding. Even tried making a new Cataloque; same deal.

    Just to confirm  - you have selected a folder of files you wish to import and tagged some files that you wish to select?

    Are there likely to be any duplicates and, if so, do you have skip duplicates ticked?

    Been using Capture One for decades, so no, not a duplicate issue. Doesn't;t matter if I select one file or a whole folder, the error stays the same: No valid selection (although all looks normal).
