When importing photos my macbook will turn off

I'm not sure if this is a capture one problem or a macbook problem, but even when my macbook (2017) has over 50% battery life, when I'm importing photos into capture one, the screen will just turn off and the macbook will hibernate. Has anyone else experienced this?

    Yes, happened to me to a few times during import, 2018 Macbook Pro, but only when it is on battery and not connected to the charger. Import seems to cause intense CPU (and probably also GPU) activity, which an old battery may not be able to supply anymore.

    My Macbook's battery has above 200 charging cycles and System report lists it as service recommended, so it's definitely not in good shape anymore.
