Any limitation with C1 for Sony/Fuji? i.e. future backwards compatiblity

I'm a C1 for Sony v12 user. 

I'm worried about future compatibility. With C1 Sony(& Fuji) version, correct to assume that all files I have worked on so far,  I will be able to open, adjust, then save again in all current AND future releases of C1 including C1 Pro?  I also want to make sure how the file looks will not change between C1 Sony/Fuji vs. Pro versions i.e Every function/features identical except compatiblity with non-Sony/Fuji files.
