Error creating layer

Experiencing an issue with capture one pro. When trying to use the new brushes the error message "Error creating layer" pops up. It tells me maximum layers are used. Is this a bug or can one use only a maximum layers. System Mac Mini M1 Big Sur

    Capture One limits you to 16 layers per image.
