Capture One 20 to Big Sur
So, I upgraded from older COP to COP20 last year on Intel Retina Mac. But could NEVER get it to work. So, I gave up. Just did not use it. Help from Capture One was useless and overly complex and took too long via email. Email support is BS. A 10 min phone call would have solved this and I would not be here now or, not used this expensive product for a year.
Now I am on Big Sure on Mac Mini M1. I would like to get this expensive upgrade to work.
I guess the way to look at it now is that, I need to install my COP20 onto the Mini and then somehow, point it to the external drive where my library and image collection is and is hooked up to the Mini.
How?

So the first thing is to install the app.
Then, when you say your library and image collection are on the external drive, do you mean (a) that you have a Capture One catalog or session on that drive, or (b) do you just mean that you have images on the external drive that you want to use Capture One with?
Let us know and we will see if we can help.

So 20 will work on Big Sur? What is link to that down load and what various codes will I need to make it work? I have to find them.
A) Yes, I think.
B) That too, I think.0 -
So 20 will work on Big Sur?
Ian's suggesting that you try it and find out for yourself, I reckon...

The official information about what versions of Capture One work with what versions of MacOS is here.
It suggests that Capture One 20 works with Big Sur 11.1.0. It doesn't specify that it works with later updates of BigSur. (I've just updated to 11.2.3.) Whether it does or not you might be able to find out from someone who has tried it, or you could try it for yourself.
If you had version 20 already you should be able to log in to the Capture One website and download it again. (You may need to root around for the previous versions link.)
My (a) and (b) questions were meant to be either (a) or (b). You can check whether you have existing Capture One catalogs or sessions on your external drive by looking for the .cossessiondb or .cocatalog files.
