This site is my only recourse for letting you know

From the Windows Beta release notes:

    Windows
The download for Windows contains an installer file and a FilePackager. When filing a bug from a
Windows machine, use the FilePackager to easily gather relevant logs for the Capture One development team.

    If that's not appropriate:

    https://support.captureone.com/hc/en-us/requests/new

Not much point talking about the issue here, it's a user-to-user forum, so definitely NOT your "only recourse" - you're not talking to Capture One here.

If you are a registered tester there is also a dedicated Forum area to raise such matters that is within the scope of the NDA.

SFA: Thank you for letting me know. I am new here. I was unable to find any forums related to the Beta program, however. Within the .pdf that comes with the software, it simply says:

    "Reporting a bug
When reporting beta bugs, please use the built-in
    functionality from ‘Help > Report a bug…’.
Please do not send beta bugs directly to Support."

Impossible to do that when one cannot launch the software to begin with.

Rather a good point there should be a way to report bugs that don't allow you to start the software. :-)

I think that is why the specific forum area for registered testers was created.

If the installation will not start at all then I would not see a problem related to using the "Submit a request" feature just to raise that local problem and ask for the message to be passed on. Such a problem is very much NOT normal and therefore not a "bug" in the sense of a functional error if based on only one reported problem.

There would be no need to go into details until contacted by a member fo the C1 test team

Even so, the dedicated forum area would likely be a more direct route with a fast response time.

SFA: Such a dedicated forum would be a good idea, except there's no information for one provided by the C1 package, and I haven't been able to find one anywhere.

After all, may be it would be a good idea to check with Norton why the program is considered as malicious (or how to create a permanent exception for a program)...
