Adjustments clipboard question

I notice when I copy and paste settings from one image to another, it only pastes any changes you've made to the original image.

An example...

if you're pasting settings from one image to another and the one you're copying from has no changes to the exposure, but the image you're copying to does, it won't take off the exposure changes on the pasted image. It will if you go in and manually select "exposure" as one of the settings you want to change, but that's a hassle.

If you're copying to several different images, you have no idea what settings might be applied to them. In LR I could have a default set of adjustments that wouldn't change with every image.

Am I making any sense???
