Add unsupported cameras?
I have a Panasonic FZ330 that captures .RW2 files. But C1 does not import them (doesn't recognise them as images). C1 does support the Panasonic FZ200, apparently.
Is there a way I can add the appropriate camera profile? THX

Indeed it is. And it is fulfilling its purpose beautifully. Thanks.
The Lumix FZ200 and FZ330 have identical lenses. The former is supported by C1, the latter is not.
So I can get around the limitation by editing the camera details in metadata. But it is not an elegant solution to change the camera used for the shots, nor is it practical when dealing with hundreds of raw files.
My assumption is that camera profiles are stored in separate files. So if someone can help on this one...
Where are the camera profiles stored? and
Is it possible to edit on in such a way that C1 will recognise the file?
Thanks

Colin,
Recognising a camera is mainly about the internal working of the sensor rather than the lens. That can vary from camera model to camera model even when using the same lens. Also about Tethering support where such an option may be offered. I don't think tethering is a consideration in this case.
No there is no support for user-supplied definitions although I believe some people do take to editing the camera identification string in an existing definition for a similar camera in order to see other cameras "recognised". It's not something I have had to resort to so I am unable to offer guidance.
However, bear in mind that the supported camera definitions are reloaded every time C1 is updated and therefore any special files one may create run the risk of disappearing. One would need to be aware of that and take the appropriate steps to ensure they could be replaced when required.

Thanks for the response, SFA!
"I believe some people do take to editing the camera identification string in an existing definition for a similar camera in order to see other cameras recognised".
That's exactly what I am trying to do. Does anyone out there know how to do this? Thanks.

You can do it using an EXIF editor for sure. But when you have a lot of files to modify, it could become tedious, unless using a script or a batch process if the EXIF editor offers this possibility.

Hi Robert. Yep, could do that. But, TBH, might just be easier to batch convert everything to DNG.
But I'd rather hack C1 than the files themselves. ;-)

Copies of the files surely?

Not if there is a way of editing a .icm file from one camera to another and then getting C1 to recognise it.
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
