Pictures are in the "wrong" file format
On one of my two computers I can no longer open pictures from a Canon R5 that are displayed without any problems on the other computer.
Both are on the latest version 14.1.1.
It appears (translated from German like this: "Dieses Bild liegt in einem nicht unterstützten Dateformat vor").
What is wrong ?

Maybe one of the machines doesn't have the proper profile?

It shouldn’t matter, because C1 got its own RAW engine, but try to open the files maybe with an alternatve RAW software to see, if it doesn't been recognised at all.

Benno, did you activate the Canon or Pro version on both computers? If you activated a Nikon, Sony or Fuji version, it won’t process Canon RAWs.

Hi, have the same problem. Changed my computer and none of the files are supported anymore!

I got this message above "Dieses Bild liegt in einem nicht unterstützten Dateiformat vor" suddenly as well; asked for support but did not get any notice yet. Any idea how to overcome this issue?

I got this same message "Dieses Bild liegt in einem nicht unterstützten Dateiformat vor" . since 2 weeks I cannot open any picture. Does anyone of you got already a solution for this problem?

After two weeks of waiting and a request via FB I had a response from the Capture one support which proved to be effective though not entirely plausible.
My original picture files are stored on an external disk drive. The solution: I had to go into the Systems settings on my mac and allow capture one to access this drive. Strangely enough this setting had worked before ever since I had capture one installed without this additional permission set; once set the system works again.
In hindsight the bug started after I had created a new album in capture one; may be this creation of an album alerted the request for permission within the software (though I have had more albums before).
I had asked the support to post the solution here...
Hope this helps0
