Missing Catalog Images with Wrong Thumbnails?
Hey there,
In exporting my catalog of images, I'm noticing some of the thumbnails of the images are wrong/incorrect (when you click on them to become full size they change) and when I export, these thumbnail images aren't in the export at all. How do I recover them? Help is so appreciated!

Image thumbnails are stored in a Cache inside of Capture One catalogs. When a catalog or portion of a catalog is exported the cached Thumbnails are NOT included. When you open the new catalog Capture One will rebuild the Thumbnails. This will take some time. Until then Capture One uses the Thumbnail that is part of the image file when present. Previews are also cached.
If you've opened the exported catalog and have waited until thumbnail/preview generation is complete and you still have the issue I'd worry that the catalog entry for an image is corrupted. If in the browser you right click and select show in finder does it show the correct image? If so does Image -> Regenerate Previews cause the correct preview/thumbnail to be shown?

Thank you Marco! When I try to open the image from the thumbnail (missing images) in either Photoshop/Preview or export, both paths lead to the same different images, which I already have. The thumbnails are the actual images I'm looking for at this point. Does this mean these images are most likely corrupt, and do you know of any recourse?

Nicola,
Can ask you what your intended purpose is for the Export - in particular where an export of the Thumbnails, if it were to happen, would be useful?
Are you creating another Catalog from a subset of an existing catalog?
Is this page from the user guide in any way relevant, in part, for your purpose?

I don't quite understand what this means. The thumbnails inside Capture One are specific to Capture One. They include edits/crops made to the original image. Thumbnails in Finder are from the original file before editing or something Finder generates. In either case it will not include your Capture One edits since Capture One never writes data back to the original file. In short, the Finder thumbnails will not match the Capture One thumbnails. Or am I misreading your message?
When you say "When I try to open the image from the thumbnail..." do you mean open in Finder or using the Capture One Image -> Open With feature?

Yes let me clarify! I mean using the Capture One Image -- Open With feature. Essentially, I open up my catalog right now and the thumbnail (let's call it Image A) is the image I am missing when I export. However, when I click to view the Image A thumbnail, it turns into Image B (which I am not missing). When I try to open the Image A thumbnail using the Capture One Image -- Open With feature into either Preview or Photoshop, it always brings up Image B.
At this point all I want to do is locate Image A in either JPEG or RAW form (the missing images that are only seen as thumbnails). Any help is so appreciated, thanks again.

SFA, thank you for the link -- whenever I try to export the thumbnails, they export as different images. It seems that the images in the thumbnails themselves are missing and I'm looking to export them in any way possible to recover these files.
