Negative inversion in CH compared to C1Pro

Hello.

I have a question in regards to the negative/positive conversion in Capture One CH. In CH, under Base characteristics, you can select the Mode and CH does the conversion. In C1Pro you can invert the level values (0 <-> 255) in order to achieve the positive from the negative.  

I seem to get different results (as in colour and contrast) when using the 2 different ways of inversion.

Also, is the conversion in CH any different to using the styles "Color Negative Generic 01" (etc.) that come with C1? 

Any feedback on this is very much welcome.

    I've never used Capture One CH so don't know how it works.  With Pro I've found I need to both invert levels AND use auto levels with the Levels Channel Mode set to Red, Green, and Blue channels to get a reasonable starting point for editing negatives.   I first set the white balance from the negative border.

    The negatives I've been digitizing are 50+ years old with faded colors.  I still have to play the the auto adjusted levels to get a better image.
