Teethered shooting
I'm using a Leica SL2S and like to keep the Original File name which is aggregated by the Camera as the "file name" during the shoot process. For some reason I can't chose "Original File" name in the selection Tab where the file names of each capture can be specified.
The tab "Camera counter" creates a own number which doesn't corelate with the Orignal file name cretaed by the camera.
I'm running the latest version of Capture One 21 with the German language settings.
Thanks for your help / advide.

Maybe choosing a different counting tag could help you here,
there are many way to turn around this problem.

Thank you!
I tried this Option but the "Camera Counter" creates a own numbering system. It does NOT refer or is based on the Original File name aggregated in the Camera. In the comprehensive list of naming format options, "Original File Name" isn't an available choice?

Christian,
Unless the Leica approach for full tethering in C1 is different from other cameras the camera is not performing any internal image processing when shooting RAW and file naming is allocated by the controlling computer using Capture One's naming system and storing the resulting image directly to the computer. Capture One's camera control facilities will be active.
Depending on what the camera manufacturer offers by way of external control software, operation of the camera by both computer control and camera control MAY be possible but the main objective is for Computer Control and probably remotely without any need to touch the camera.
Alternatively, one can connect the camera and use the camera to internally process image but save the results to a folder on the attached computer ins "Hot Folder" monitored by Capture One so that the images delivered are automatically discovered ready for C1 to be used for processing. Using that method the camera allocates the image name and uses its internally generated numbering sequence.
I have no experience of Leica cameras and things may be different - but I suspect they are not totally different. Does the camera user guide offer any guidance on this subject?

Thank you SFA!
I'll contact Leica to find out about the "hot foder" option. The user Guide doesn't offer an explanation about that subject. I will now contact Leica and in case a solution is offered, I'll let you know.
There are obviously many different ways to name files but as I'm using the original file name aggregated by the camera to in part identify each of the many files I'm living with, it would be convinient to see the original file name being offered for Teethered shooting as well.
In any case, thank you for your explanation as I now understand why this is technically different vs other EXIF data offered as a standard (ie the serial number of the camera).
