Is a memory card in or out of the camera?

    Which Capture One version?

    You need 13.1.2 or newer:

I was able to fix it.  Here's what I did. I reinstalled the firmware on my camera and then I uninstalled Capture.  Wiped it from my computer and reinstalled it.  After that, everything worked.

As far as a card.  I had tried both.  OS is current.  I use Capture One Pro (most current).

The super weird thing is that it happened to my computer at work as well.  These computers are not linked to each other and I have the same problem with both laptops.  SO..... I have to think it has to do with the capture software(probably not but...), it's either that or camera firmware, but those are not the same either.  The reason I say that is because my laptop at work is running Catalina and not Big Sur(laptop at home).  I shoot Mark IVs as well as R5 and neither will tether.  And here's the kicker.  I shot my Mark IV all day last Thursday and Friday.  Everything worked fine.  When I got on location on Sunday it did not tether and would not tether moving forward.  Then, my R5 that was working stopped working as well.  I could go on but that is the jist.

Either way, the problem is solved on my personal laptop.  I have to run thru uninstall/reinstall on my work laptop tomorrow and then see if that fixed it.  I will update when I have that answer.

So you downloaded the latest version?

Then as I suggested, you were probably on a pre 13.1.2 release.

I have just been through a complete disk erase and reinstall of my OS and all apps. I have Capture Pro 21 and I updated to the latest R5 firmware but it still wasn't showing up in capture. I'm on Macbook Pro 2017 with Monterey. Finally today, after 2 days trouble shooting I was able to tether but connecting via the HUB on my LG Ultrafine external display. Capture now also detects my camera on 3 out of 4 USB ports on my Mac. One of the 3 is shaky and takes a long time to connect. Something awoke when I connected via the Hub on my external display, and now it's working sort of. I don't feel like I have a reliable enough solution yet to take my R5 on a paid shoot. Some additional things to note: 1. My Canon 6D Mark II detects in Capture on all my USB ports. 2. At work I use a 2019 Macbook Pro which detects the R5 every time. Maybe I just need the latest Macbook Pro?

If I deactivate CP1 can I reactivate it again on my machines?

    Thanks!
