Fuji Film Sim and the before and after tool
Hey there,
Is there any option, though that the before and after tool inside of C1 doesn't show me the Auto selected Fuji Film Sim (the one that was chosen in Camera)?
Though my problem is, that if I shoot in any given Film Sim/Recipe for Jpeg, C1 will choose that Sim automatically in the basic tab (together with WB settings), that's nice so far and I also know how to change the standard behaviour of this. But I like to see Film Sims similar as a converting LUT and a starting point for processing the image. But that's where the problem begins : the before and after tool seems to see the change of the Film Sim, as a part of processing the image and goes all the way back to the Film Sim, that C1 automatically detects from the Camera. What makes it useless in many cases. For example, if i don't like the colours of a scenery as they are, but decide to shoot a BW Jpeg for a quick social media post and then want to adjust colors on the RAW file...I can adjust exposure, colors, skintones etc on layers all the way, but i get before/after = BW /Colour Picture to compare.

Bastian,
Use a variant (or variants) for the image rather than Before and After. That will give you much better control anyway.
I make a variant at key change points in an edit - points I might want to refer to and compare later edits rather than rely upon going all the way back to the "original" as the only option. (In my opinion.)
