Really Edit All Selected Variants

Please make "Edit all selected variants" really do its thing.

I understand that this might be overkill for some tool (e.g. layers) but I really don't understand why i can apply keywords to all selected variants but cannot do that with places or IPTC-Status from the Meta-Data tool.

I know that I can copy and paste those data or use presets but they are a clumsy workaround.
