Imported C1 Catalogue going into "IN Catalog" folder

I am trying really hard to learn Capture one and move from LR. The user guides for managing catalogues and folders are a bit sparse and obviously written by people who know know C1 inside out. For some of us new to C1 from LR the "logic" is, to say the least a bit baffling!

Im trying to merge two C1 catalogues I have created in order to have just the one. Adding a Portraits catalogue into my Main Catalogue.

What's happening is the imported Portraits catalogue images are going into the "In Catalog" folder. Really not what I want!

This is what I did:

Using Windows File Explorer I moved the Portraits Folders structure to where I want it to be in my File Explorer Main Catalogue Folder. I then opened the Portraits C1 catalogue and "found" the folders again and made sure that all my images were there and any processing  was still applied.

I then Exported Images as a Catalogue.  File > Export as Catalogue > added temp name> selected a temp folder > checked "Also Include" and "Include Subfolders"

Clicked OK - All Good.

Open the Main Catalogue: File > Import Catalogue > Import Capture One Catalogue 

The box that opens allows selection of the exported Portrait catalogue file which is in the temp file I created.

What happens next is the Import begins. However the images are being replicated and physically imported into the "In Catalog" folder.  Not good!

C1 ignores the the existing file structure... There seems to be no other option in the "Import Capture One Catalogue" menu ?

I know I could just start over and have C1 Import the folders and files and add the folder structure rather than "Import a Catalogue" but I will then lose all my processing work.

Can someone please explain how I can Import my C1 Portrait Catalogue, have it reference the actual folders in File Explorer and maintain my processing and NOT copy the images into the C1 "In Catalogue" folder.

Thank you if you can help..  and please assume I have no prior Capture One experience - total newbie.

I have Capture One 21 for Sony. version 14.2.0.48  & recent Windows 10 updates.
