Missing CMYK ICC profiles
Since upgrading to Capture One 22 all my CMYK ICC profiles have disappeared from the 'ICC Profile' drop-down menus in the 'Export' and 'Print' tabs - I don't have even the generic CMYK profile. I've checked that the profiles are stored in the correct location on my Mac which is running macOS Big Sur.
I've tried all the usual fixes - full uninstall and reinstall of Capture One, delete CP1 preference files, checked that CP1 has full disk access. No luck fixing the problem.
I've opened a support case but still waiting to hear back. Has anyone else found this a problem and worked out how to fix it?

I'm in the same boat. CMYK is greyed out in the Export dropdown, despite several icc files visible in Library/ColorSync/Profile. I was about to uninstall and reinstall but seems that's not a fix. I've also reached out on the forum--with some help but no fixes. No response yet from Support.

Hi Fawn. I've had a response to my support request. The issue has been identified as a bug and passed to the R&D team to audit the issue. No timeline for when it might be resolved. Seems like a pretty serious bug to me for software that is the industry standard in many photography studios so the more people who flag this up the better.

is the industry standard in many photography studios
yeah they clearly set a standard as the software with zero quality control before release, the most bugs and the slowest support in our industry.
maybe you can test if it works with Monterey ?

Hi again Fawn
I've been doing a bit more digging after I discovered that CMYK ICC profiles also don’t show up in Apple’s ColorSync utility. It seems this is a known issue with the macOS 11.6.2 update. They were OK in 11.6.1 but are ‘hidden’ in this latest update from some applications - although not from Adobe CC as all profiles are visible in Photoshop.
I have found a CMYK profile from the ICC that does show up in ColorSync and Capture One. Download link here for your information:
This allows me to export a CMYK file from Capture One. As a Fogra39 profile endorsed by the ICC for printing on coated paper I'm going to assume it has the same specification as the Adobe version - I can't see any difference when I switch between the profiles in Photoshop with a few colour points set up for reference.I’ll use this profile until there is a 11.6.3 update from Apple which will hopefully rectify this. Hope this is useful for you too.0 -
I would be cautious to use this profile as it seems rather special with an very low level of total inking !

Johnathan and CSP,
Thanks so much for contributing to this thread. A bug would make sense, an issue I considered when I read what which OS you’re running, Johnathan. Still frustrating and a huge waste of time.
I had noticed that the icc files weren’t showing in the ColorSync app either, which made me wonder if it was a location problem.
CSP, thanks for the warning on the icc link above. It may be helpful to at least color check files before sending to the print co. I’ll run it by them and also see if the file works for me later today.
Thanks again for everyone’s time sharing what might help.

Johnathan,
Don't know if it's something you're willing to or can do but I updated my system to run Monterey (Apple released 12.2 today) and like magic there's a whole list of CMYK "Export" options -- that I didn't have to download. Sure beats the 3 days I wasted fighting the now-known bug.

Hi Fawn
Thanks for this. I've been holding off updating to Monterey but now that 12.2 is out perhaps it's time to take the plunge.
