Incompatibility with Windows 10 Core Isolation
Hi,
I have an issue with Capture One 20, particularly with the driver p1c1394_ws03_x64.sys
Windows 10 will not allow me to set Core Isolation Memory Integrity on. This is the feature of Microsoft Windows that protects important core processes of Windows from malicious software by isolating them in memory.
I get an error message indicating that the Phase One firewire1394 driver is incompatible with this function.
Is there a solution for this?
Best regards,
Harry Kaasinen

Do you need the Firewire driver?
I have a feeling that for both Windows and Mac Firewire support has been or is being deprecated.
If you do not need the driver just delete it.
If you do need it - for older Phase One cameras perhaps - it may be worth checking with the Phase One team via their support portal.

Hi SFA,
Thank you for the answer, but just deleting the driver file does not work in Windows 10. You see there is a separate file and registry where all the drivers are listed. Capture One itself does not offer possibilities for a proper deletion.

I have solved this issue.
Basically it is just the removal of those 1394 drivers (sys-files).
To do this, as I wrote earlier, the actual files are not to be deleted directly. Windows does not work this way.
The correct way to do is to find out which inf-file is the right one (C:WIndows/INF/oemx.inf). Then you need to use the Windows PowerShell with administrative rights and use the Windows application PnpUtil with it.

Just use .cmd ( run as admin)
pnputil /delete-driver oemxxx.inf /uninstall ( your # for xxx) - whatever windows says is incompatible
