How do I easily move photos to parent folder with the Library Tool?
How do I move images from subfolders to their parent folder so the 2019 folder structure would be similar to 2018 one? The Library Tool won't let me drag-and-drop the images to the parent folders?
There's also quite many images to reorganize, so is there any easy way to do this? Should I just re-import the images somehow?

Try to move images from the Browser window to the Library tool.

You can select all of the images you want to move and then drag them from the Browser to the folder you want them in. If that folder doesn't already exist, just click the "+" and add the folder from within Capture One (C1 will create a folder on your drive) and then drag the selected image(s) to the folder.

Adding the parent folder (the folder 2019-03-10 in case of the attached image in the top post) using the "Add folder" action and then moving the images there seems to corrupt the catalog database. Luckily I was able to repair the database with the "Verify Catalog Or Session" action. The corruption does not seem to be just a fluke—I was able to repeat that using the exact same procedure, so maybe it could be a bug?

I figured that the easiest solution for me was to move the files to match the desired folder structure using Finder and shell scripts. After that I used the "Locate" action in Capture One to update references in the catalog. Maybe not the most elegant way, but got the job done.

If you move images within the C1 app e.g. as Abbott has described in detail then the C1 catalog should be up to date, but if you do it outside C1 (i.e. with the Finder/Explorer) then you need to take action in C1 afterwards, as you know.
Adding an unknown folder to the catalog in the lib tool did not corrupt my database when I did this on occasion in the past.
Good that you figured it out.
