Capture One 21 Tethering Very Slow

I currently shoot fast shoots so am always continuously shooting but capture is painfully slow. It's taking 10-20 seconds for each shot to come through and i'm having to wait for all images to finish coming through too after about 20 shots or the camera says 'busy' and doesn't let me shoot anymore. I am using a Canon 5D, running capture one 21 and have a Mac (Retina 5K, 27-inch, 2017) Specs - Memory - 32 GB 2400 MHz DDR4 Processor - 4.2 GHz Quad-Core Intel Core i7 RAM - 16GB

Any thoughts? I am aware that hardware may need an upgrade as it is an older computer. For this kind of shooting what would be the best spec if an upgrade is needed and nothing else can be done on the computer I currently have?
