Lens profiles do nothing in Capture One

Did you deliberately set the lens profile to something completely different and compare the versions (e.g. with the "Before/After"-view?

What kind of scene did you use to evaluate the correction? Distortions might not be very visible depending on the subject...

    Also remember that

    • there exist lenses with very small distortions
    • modern cameras might already contain correction data for certain lenses (or the lens even delivers that information to the camera)

Concerning the second case, I'm not sure if the raw-image out of camera contained already the required corrections

    Timo,

What are you expecting to see changed?

Does the "Distortion" slider show any value? Typically if distortion correction is being applied the default value will show 100%.

For a particular lens, especially a zoom type lens, there may be focal lengths where correction is not thought to be necessary.

For example I have lenses where correction is only applied for the shorter focal lengths of the zoom (where they are required) and not for the longer lengths.

Setting the browser sort to Focal Length for a batch of images shot with a Canon 24-105 L lens and scrolling through them I can see correction being applied up to 28mm, then nothing applied until the FL gets to 45mm. From 45mm to 105mm correction is applied.

If I change the distortion amount at any FL value the correction (or lack of correction) seems to be suitable.

If you are not seeing any Lens Auto correction at all BUT moving the Distortion slider makes a difference that you would expect to see, check that you do not have "Default Lens Correction" turned off in the Lens tool.
