Reveal / Show in Finder disabled
I just imported photos. When selecting them and right clicking on them to show the context menu the item to reveal the image in finder is disabled. I need to find the source file. How is this possible?

Did you eventually import the image into the catalog (as opposed to Add to catalog i.e. as referenced images)?

It could be, but I'm not sure why it would do the import function differently than before – perhaps because I just upgraded to 22?
Anyway, it seems that the original is somewhere. I don't get the "OFFLINE" label on the image and after zooming in I think it looks like the full resolution...

In the library tool, do you see the collection "In catalog" and the images in there? Then you imported into catalog. In that case "Show in Explorer/Finder" is disabled.
I am on Windows, it is just a folder "Originals", but I think on Mac it's a "package" or similar ...(I'm not a Mac person).

And check your settings "Import To" in the import dialog for future imports.

Thank you, BeO. I think I now understand it. They were in the Catalog File indeed. I moved them to an external disk and as a side effect now I can reveal them in the Finder.
However, even when in the catalog shouldn't they be revealable? After all, at least on Mac, it's just another folder.

Only a folder in Windows too. I agree with you, the function to show them in Explorer/Finder should be available.

Wow, I just wasted weeks with support. They just copy paste answers and take weeks to do so. Terrible. I had to find the answer here.
This UX is just horrible. Why would this be different if it is in the catalog or just referenced? And this just changed with an upgrade, without notification of any sort. Poorly thought through, indeed.3
