How to really turn off Auto Hide (viewer) on Mac

1. It seems at first that once you have turned on "Auto-hide" you cannot turn it off.

2. You can however, customise a new workspace and NOT turn it on. You need to start from a workspace where 'Auto hide' has not been turned on at any stage, customise it and rename it. 

3. I now have several custom workspaces. Two are identical except that one is called 'Custom No Hide' and the other (still) has auto hide turned on [I cannot turn it off on the workspace]
