The problem with Capture one. The price
The Price of the software is to High
and now u say hey you get that u pay for. this is some where right and wrong at the same time
We know you wanna make money but here is the deal in 2022 things are not the same as for 15 years ago.
Why do you think some games are free? like Lost ark fortnite and other games. its free and games like this are making the bank making more money in you can use at your life time.
So u can buy skins etc and you make money via adds and other things . but that is a talk to a other time.
The problem with Capture one is they sub is waaay to high it's 29 Euro and u are shooting your self in the foot most new photographers and others are turn off by the price I have been talking to last 3 years and u make less money.
what I hear when I say capture is really good and better in light-room they say "cool I take a look at it" as soon they see the price they say "I am not going to pay that, and say I just keep my deal at Adobe PS-Lightroom for 10Euro for 2 programs" hell no Photoshop is the best program to edit with as all things. and 100% of you or 99% have some program that are like photoshop or are photoshop you are using as well.
Even Blender is free and do u know why? people see its free and installing it and then buying addons and other things and they still make the bank
lets say this, Do you want to have anyone to use you're software or only 5% of the people out there?
Think about this lets say 99% of the people out there using they Capture one for 12E ish YOU make so much vs only 5% using capture one, any big gaming knows this its called marketing knowledge and the model is so simple and that's why big gaming companies make more money in 1 month in you will make in 3 years
So lets say you make the price 10-12 E per month for sub, ANY Amateur photographer will use you program and u can sell addons and overlays etc and you WILL make a lot more money in what u are now. and Lightroom will die out in the end.. but not photoshop
I don't understand why my Danish people don't understand this it's mind blowing it's common sense in like EFG Erhvervsfaglige Grunduddannelser in english business school first year
it not that hard to understand.
So Think about this do you want 10% of something or 90% of somthing?

Are you a business consultant giving them free consultancy here? This is a user to user forum...

10% or 90%?
Hmm.
Do you want a country in an enforced price lockdown or somewhere that, in a closed market, is free to do as it likes based on its projections for the future?
Another option would be "Neither of the above" - but then we may all be in a place with some very strange worlds to march through.
The future competition may not be other developers of similar tools but an international quorum of governments desperate to make their economic numbers look vaguely rational in order to retain voters to their cause (only where voters are necessary) in order to prolong their tenure in positions of power and influence.
I saw a headline today that indicated how the largest camera manufacturers were very likely to significantly increase prices for camera bodies and lenses very soon.
Why would any developer of software (something that seems to be required in order for the manufacturers to have a form of user market) see a benefit to reducing prices unless they could satisfy the demand (if there is any) by finding cost cuts they could apply?
If they could find those cost cuts, what would they be?

Let's say you stop making up completely arbitrary, irrelevant "facts" to support your facile argument - and in a completely inappropriate sub-forum, to boot?
(Seriously - if you can't even get that right, why should we take any of your opinions seriously?)
I'm going to guess that Capture One knows a damn' sight more about running a successful software company than a random, anonymous Talking Head on an internet forum who should really probably just work a bit harder - then he'd be able to afford the software.
