Capture One 21 (14.3) Library tool unresponsive for minutes every start
Since upgrading to the latest Capture One 21 (14.3.0.185) on Windows 10 the following issue happens every time I start Capture One:
1. The UI and windows appear normally
2. No pictures appear
3. The Library tool (folder list) appears unresponsive. A folder list appears but if you click on any folder to display its contents the whole list scrolls erratically, no images appear in the browser or viewer, and your selection is not remembered. The scrollbar is also erratic. It looks as if Capture One is reading a lot of data to build up the folder list. Capture One is unusable for minutes while this happens, since you can't select any folders or look at images, and it happens every time I launch it.
4. After several minutes, the Library tool stabilizes and Capture One is usable normally.
FYI the pictures folders are on an external Samsung T7 SSD, It works normally, and the issue appeared on the 14.3 update. There are about 1GB of images and hundreds of folders on the disk. The disk is 2TB capacity, NTFS with big blocks (256kb) and attached via USB 3.0.
Did you make a change in the 14.3 update that reads a lot of data to build the folder list every launch? The bug is tolerable, I guess, since it only occurs on launch. But I would prefer to downgrade to an earlier build until it's fixed.

I have the same issue too, after the last update Capture One is pretty much unusable for a bit, I haven't timed it, but guessing close to a minute. It looks like it is enumerating the catalog library. All of mine are stored on internal hard drives and not external drives.
I now start Capture One, and go away and do stuff, then come back when it's usable.

The same problem here. New 14.3.1 didn´t help. Version 14.2 starts in 15 sec., 14.3. is ready after 2-3 minutes. Image subfolders appears one by one in several seconds interval. Moved v 14.2. application, images, and catalog to another computer, upgraded to 14.3.1, the same result. Folders appears very slowly, and library is unresponsive. I have aproximattely 22000 RAWs in catalog, images and catalog itself are on the internal SSD disks. Images are organized in subfolders like this D:\RAW\YYYY\MMDD_Description. I opened support ticket 3 weeks ago, still no response

Same here. In my case, after the GUI has been built up, the application remains frozen. I have to shoot it down via Task Manager. This behaviour began with the last-but-one version.

Hi,
Could you try to "Show Folders Hierarchy" (right click on any folder to find that option) in the library tool and see if that helps?0 -
... unfortunately, does not make any difference.

We will see...
