Edits subfolder for sessions
Just like we have Capture/selects/output/trash folders automatically integrated in our session structure, since C1pro already have an automated "edit in" export feature, why not make a specific "edits" folder in our session tree? It makes for a more tidy structure, and easier reimport into C1 for final colorgrading in our workflow. :)

Then you wouldn't have e.g. the tiff side by side with the original image in Capture or Select, right? Then I would want to see this new feature as optional (configurable) so that I don't have to use it.

I totally agree that it should be opt in or opt out. Any "automatic" feature that isn't optional isn't a feature at all, it's a coercion. :)

You could add the "Edits" folder that you require, save the Session as a Template and then use the Session Template when creating new future sessions so the "Edits" folder is added every time.
If you create an "Edits" export recipe and point to output to the Session's "Edits" folder you should be able to automate the process for each external "edit" program you require although you may, for your purposes, need to clearly differentiate between "Edit with" and "open with" operations.
An alternative, which may require more care during the export activity, is to reset which folder is associated with the virtual "Output" location. By default the virtual "Output" points to the Session's Output folder but it can be used to point to any folder you choose.

SFA: Yes, you could do a workaround for the lack of this feature in a myriad of ways, including the one you describe. What I'm asking for is an easier way, not a harder one. :)
