Sub-Catalog to ease RAM / sync with Main-Catalog

Hey there!!
I I have one general Catalog, to use it also as a file browser, but when I’m editing, it’s starting to lag due to the heavy memory usage…
I saw that I can “Export Collection as Catalog”, and when I work there it alleviates my memory; but I would like to see the adjustments in my “Main” Catalog as well…
Is there a workaround?

    Do the bulk of your editing in a session, and then import that to the catalog afterwards, perhaps?

    When you "Export Collection as Catalog" you can choose to not include the original references files. After having done your changes in that exported catalog, close it and import it into your general catalog, you will be asked which variants to keep (e.g. existing in your general catalog, imported from the collection catalog, or all of them), you can decide image by image or for all.

    I only tested this briefly and it seems to work on first sight, but make your own tests before you rely on this workflow working flawlessly.
