Light Table-like function to organize, group, sort large groups of images??

I really miss the Light Table function in the long-gone Apple Aperture--you can see it in use here. I'm solidly in the Capture One camp and don't know many other offerings that might have a tool similar to a light table. Google is cluttered and not showing me something that seems close to such a feature.

Is there a tool out there that will allow me to import some selects and sort, resize, group, etc like a pile of virtual slides on a physical light table?
