Good idea. This would be useful.

I would also second this as a really useful feature, just a note attached to allow some free text to be pinned to the image. Something I really thought would be there.

And an alternative variant-specific field, as short as 50 characters would suffice, which could be shown in the browser and in the viewer beneath the image (therefore short), and be used in the filters and as an output token.

Or, give this bigger free-text field requested here the abilities I mentioned, and show only as many characters in the browser and viewer as there is space.

Definately, but I think we will wait to see anything implemented. I spent time looking for where I could add notes as I expected there to be something - sadly not.

I think you mean a notes or comments box shown, say, underneath the Viewer, as opposed to text superimposed over the image, correct?
(I have just submitted the latter in a Feature Request to expand the function of the Annotations Tool)
But some time ago I also submitted a Support Request (before I discovered the Feature Requests in the Forum) asking for a notes or comments box with simple basic text. As BeO suggested, such a tool could be set below the Viewer with say one line of 20 char visible but you click to expand the box to show up to, say, 200 char.
This would be helpful to make notes/reminders/explanations about the adjustments you've made, or add info about the image event or other content.
This would be visible all the time and thus much more practical than switching to the Metadata Tool Tab and scrolling through all the metadata, then switching back to the Tool Tab you were working on

Re-opening this thread which has been quiet for a few months: I don't think that this is just about making notes of the various post-processing changes. I'm right now on a trip to Venice, and want to add a descriptive note to the picture so that I don't forget what I was looking at, i.e. 'Church of San Francesco della Vigna, Castello, with a facade by Palladio.'  I'd've thought that this would be a very basic feature for an app as powerful as C1. If I've missed it, please be kind enough to advise.

I've added the request for a notes option to this summary of DAM improvement requests.
