there are many new lenses from Sigma
the 28-70 is unique because it is so small and therefore ideal for traveling
Unfortunately almost useless without a profile; is that a wish from Sony?
is there a profile coming?
Best regards, Enrico Mauric

For new lenses (and relatively new cameras) one might expect the lens manufacturer to provide correction data that can be read by the camera body. If read by the camera body (so that it can produce corrected jpgs) one would hope that the data is passed on to any RAW processor that supports the camera.
When you check the Lens tool you should see a Profile setting field.
I would expect it to show "Manufacturer" if the OEM profile has been identified in the RAW file data.
If not you may see "Generic".
If the lens is on the list of Lenses that Capture One has put through their test lab and decided to create a specific profile to support it then you would expect to see a profile specifically named for the lens.
For lenses with built-in electronics produced in recent times (say the past decade or so) one might expect that the manufacturers will have used software to correct most if not all significant lens anomalies via software. (Doing so allows them to make smaller, lighter, less expensive-to-make lenses and so maximize profit potential.) If the manufacturers have no got the correction data to some state of perfection by now, possible set for a specific lens or batch of lenses, then it may never happen.
Additionally, if such adjustments might set by lens or lens batch, any further post manufacturing adjustments that might be derived from one lens in a lab setting may not apply to other lenses with the same name. That would make things quite difficult to manage.
It would not be a new problem but from a manufacturer perspective software "fixes" are likely to be less costly than manufacturing consistency, especially for small zoom lenses with quite a wide range of focal length.
My guess would be that if you see the lens profile reported as "Generic" rather than "Manufacturer" but can see that JPG images appear to be corrected, you may need to raise the problem with both C1 and Sony to find out what they would expect you to see. But first, make sure you have not accidentally disabled "Default lens correction" in the lens tool.

Thanks for the prompt reply. Unfortunately, it's not very helpful to me.
When I switched to the Sony and Capture One years ago, I was aware that mainly Sony and Zeiss are supported.
So far I only have prime lenses from Sony and Zeiss in my equipment. At some point, however, you also need a small zoom for on the go that you can easily take with you. Sony is obviously unwilling to build such a lens (the 24-70 / F4 is an impertinence for A7)
With a heavy heart I solved the problem with software and bought DxO Lab4

Enrico,
So do I understand that you do not have the lens you asked about?
Or do you have the lens but have not looked to see what the RAW images shot with that lens show (in C1) for the lens profile setting?
Also I hope you understand that, in this part of the forum, you are communicating with other users.
However, it sounds like your decision to buy DxO a few hours after you asked the question may mean you had already made a decision about how you would progress, with or without an answer from this community.
Enjoy DxO. I have never looked at that application.
