external SSD storage

Permanently deleted user

I want to move some images to an external SSD drive (NOT a backup drive).I have done this before BUT all the images are basically inaccessible without jumping through hoops etc as all say ...."?OFFLINE"  so  as others have found out it's a royal pain in the rear to get to these images.

Is there any method to Safely move these images to the external drive WITHOUT experiencing the hell of ..."?OFFLINE"  error message.

    The general rule is to move files using the application that keeps the register of each file's wherabout. Or: Never move C1's files behind C1's back, use C1 to move them.
