Process Recipes Not Working

Whenever I try to process a batch of RAW images to jpegs I get either a few images processed or no images processed and an error message that says either:

Could not process file

Or

Could not preload file

This functionality is critical to my workflow so I'd be very grateful for any input. Thanks!
