Retouching notes via annotations . Is this the best way to do it?

hi, in my workflow, I often need to give retouching notes to my retouchers. Currently I do this via annotations and processing a PSD with annotations as a layer .

I hate this system because I can not type instructions. I can only make quick marks with my stylus or mouse. Writing is virtually impossible (unless you want to look like a 4th grader learning how to write...). 

Can anyone share their system to add retouching notes to your files? I am talking about high volume.

CapturOne : Can you please add typing to your annotation tool ?

And can we have annotations in TIFF format ?

    I would do it via photoshop and bridge by using an action to add text layer to speed up the process. you could even add a header / footer to the image with predefined text like general job info, logo....

    Introducing PS is not applicable for a volume operation. I can see it working with small amounts of images, but not with hundreds / thousands per week.
