Imported wrong files into a project. How to get rid?

Now I have a mix of right and wrong files. How do I "unimport" the wrong files without trashing the actual files?

    Select the "wrong" images.  Hit cmd-delete.   That will move the images to the session or catalog trash.   Now right click on the session/catalog trash album and select empty trash.  That will give you the option of removing the images from disk (you don't want to do that) or only removing the image from the session/catalog.

    That's from memory; actual details may vary slightly.
