C1 21 is incredibly slow on iMac - same post 2nd time - URGENT help needed

hi, I am posting the SAME post again because I haven't got a satisfactory resolution to the issue. It is so severe to the extent of making it impossible to use C1 v21. It takes an INORDINATE amount of delay for any adjustments to reflect on screen, effectively making C1 unusable. Even Lr, which is probably the slowest elephant in the world, feels lightning fast compared to this. Below is the same post I posted earlier - I am hoping someone from the C1 technical team can provide support on this.

I am currently using the Trial version of C1 on my 27in 5k iMac 3.4 GHz Quad-Core Intel Core i5 which is upgraded to 2 TB SSD.

My primary reason for exploring an alternative to LR is to have a tool that is faster and more responsive, esp during local adjustments.

Right now on C1, I get a lag of atleast 1 full second to see ANY adjustments reflected on my images, even on the Background layer.

Trying to view the before/ after for any particular adjustment is impossible as it takes a few seconds for the state to show up.

Same is with show/ hide masks.

Using the luma Range dialogue box feels as if the screen has frozen.

Most of the above items get done 100s if not 1000s of times each day, and hence is making the experience very painful.

Am I missing out on anything? Pls guide.

    I am running C1 on a MacBook Pro 16-inch (2019) without any issues or lags.

    A few thoughts here:

    • The size of your previews should match your monitor size. If you set it lower, C1 always needs to render from the original raw file to show the adjustments.
    • Turn on hardware acceleration in the settings (general tab)
    • Where are your image files located? A slow hard drive slows things down, a network storage lets things get even worse.

    Mario: 

    - Yes my previews are the same size as my screen resolution (2880)

    - There is another issue with C1, it keeps crashing regularly, at least twice a day, and the way out (after going through various forum comments) is to turn OFF hardware acceleration. So right now, it is turned off, otherwise it keeps crashing

    - The C1 catalog and all files are located on the iMac internal drive 2 TB SSD

    Keith: Yes, I did that along with making this post. Am looking forward to response from their team.
