No response from support.  I sent the request right after making this post.  Of course, by the time they get back to me (if they do), the October 4th deadline (for the free upgrade) will have passed.  Also, due to their delay, I have also missed out on the deal with the retail version.

While I am enjoying using the trial version and it has helped with my college football photos, for something that should be a simple and quick response to a simple question, not having a response from the company (and in the process losing out on a free upgrade as well as a reduced cost through a retailer) is not supportive.

That is a shame.  Everyone I know who uses adobe support complains about adobe support.  Perhaps it's an industry issue.

I ended up buying it from Adorama yesterday. I found no fine print on the site to state I would not be able to upgrade and I will hold them to that. I believe you have until 6pm EST to make the purchase.

I understand what you're saying here Brian.  I see it is still available at a reduced cost through Adorama, which is where I would have purchased it.  However, I was on the fence regarding renewing my subscription for Adobe photography plan or getting this.  I like lightroom but of course don't like the need for subscription.  With capture one, getting a free upgrade and reduced price would have tilted the decision in capture one's favor,  even though there is a learning curve with this now (i've been trying out the trial for the past few days but have used lightroom for years - just ended my subscription service a couple months ago and have been looking for something else).

No response from them and for me I'm not sure it's worth the fight in the future to get the upgrade.  Both have tilted the decision in Adobe's direction.  Like i wrote above, it's a shame.

I just rec'd word from support.  Here is what they said:

    Hello there,

When it comes to purchases via a retailer, all the related information and their specific policies should be clarified with the retailer.
We can manage only purchases made via our official web store.

Hope I could answer your question!
