Import windows at start?
Brand new: After updating to 14.4.0 with every start the import window appears. Annoying.
In the preferences the option "Open import windows when memory card is dedected" (or similiar, I am working with German interface) is not checked (and no memory card in the reader).
Any ideas?
Kind regards
Ernst

Oh-oh. Just found another thread with same issue:

When yours first opens, is the Import From panel greyed out and non-responsive?
A bit more info in my thread...cancelling then choosing Import Images from File menu opens the window again, but this time the Import From panel works.
Definitely a bug.

Hi Brian,
> When yours first opens, is the Import From panel greyed out and non-responsive?
Curious: Since you wrote your reply, this issue disappeared suddenly. Therefore I cannot tell you what exactly happened before. The only fixed variable was: the import window appeared. I ever closed it without trying to work with.
I wonder what happened within the last hours. I just checked integrity of the databases but they prooved as okay in every database and didn't need any repair.
Sorry that I cannot tell you more at this moment. I will come back if the issue appears again.
Kind regards

Hello,
I have the same problem on v14.4.0. "Open importer when detecting card from digital camera" in preferences is unchecked, no camera is connected, and no memory card is inserted anywhere. The "Import From" panel of the Import window is greyed out, but becomes active again and functional if the importer is closed and then opened again later.
Issue appears often, but not on every start of Capture One.
Kind regards

And here I am again. The import windows is back again. And it is - as I know from other users - not working as usual. But when closed and opened again ist works.
The difference to yesterday afternoon is that I did use another database. I will try more option...
Kind regards
ErnstP.S.: I checked database as I did with the others, no errores, but works now as used till 14.3.x

Same issue here. Everytime I open a catalogue by double clicking. This behaviour occurs each time I start a catalogue like described.

Till now I got only a message that there are "a lot" of tickets, "more than usual" - and it "could last some days" to get a reply. I know this is the default answer for years...

Thanks for submitting a ticket on this. I can confirm as well it only opens the export box if I start C1 by using a shortcut to a catalogue. If I start C1 regularly using the program icon it opens without launching the export box.
I've been using catalogue shortcuts to start C1 for the last couple of years without a problem.

Same issue here. Importer always opens automatically when starting C1 via a catalog shortcut or double clicking the database file in windows explorer. When I open C1 via the start menu (and therefore last catalog is opened again) the issue does not appear.

Update 14.4.1.6: Same issue as before.
My support ticket is open now without any answer for more than 14 days...

Just to keep you up to date: One month, no answer since. Urgent request two weeks ago, no reaction. We pay a lot for a software without support.
As I heard from Mac users, support seem to work there. A new Mac equivalent to my workstation cost way more than tenthousend Euro, new software would be affordable.
I really like Capture One if it would be stable and reliable. Capture One brings really good results, I admit. But for years now there is only one thing one can rely on Windows versions: Next C1 update will not eliminate all issues but will bring new.
It's time to think it over, even when new software means to lower one's sights regarding colors.
Kind regards

Hello again,
Problem persists, and no patch available. But to be honest, I personally find this bug really nothing more than an inconvenience. As long as there is a short, easy workaround I am not that bothered by it. Bugs are in every software, and new ones are introduced from time to time. That's the nature of things. This particular bug, though, is not breaking anything and is merely a small annoyance with a quick way around. I am certain that Phase One is well aware of this problem, that they're working on it, and that they will release a new update when the bug fix is throughly and properly enough tested. I am perfectly happy with Capture One as it is. More than, happy, in fact. Keep up the good work.

Dear Ole,
there was an update in the meanwhile, but nothing changed. And this special inconvenience could very easily be removed, it‘s not a bug you have to be a scientist to find the trigger.
But the real problem is not existing support for this expensive piece of software. The price is not a problem for me, of it is what it says: software for professionals. But as a pro I cannot wait months for an answer.Best regards

To hold you informed: First reply on my ticket two days ago.
We are still in the phase of "Send us a video so we can see what happens." and "You should check the subfolders option in the import window." (completely missunderstanding what really happens) and so on. Really annoying.
I sended logs and videos, screenshots were included in the ticket opener.
Still waiting...
Best regards
Ernst0
