Capture One 21 large Fashion sessions run way too slow
15+ year user, and can't solve the slow-down issue plaguing 21. Wish I could just go back to 12 which ran great (even with 100 capture folders and 10,000 images in one session).
I work with fashion clients that shoot for five days at a time and revisit shots from previous days. So, I need to do separate folders in one session. This worked for many years, without much slow-down. Ever since 21, by the end of the week the lag is unbearable.
Camera: Canon R5 (tethered C-C)
iMac Pro 3GHz 10-Core
64gb RAM
2TB flash drive
HELP!

BH,
Which camera(s) were you using with V12? (Just out of interest.)
I would suggest you create a Support Case using the "Submit a request" option. Or maybe contact your C1 Enterprise version contact point to expedite an investigation.

Thanks, I was using a 5D M4.

maybe it has something to do with c21 handling subfolders ?
i do not understand what benefit you have keeping the folders within the session folder as you can access them via the browser anytime. you also can mark any folder outside the session folder as capture folder if you like.

Are you seeing the lag in specific activities or generally across all functions - e.g. capturing a shot as well as trying to re-visit and view previous images?

Thanks for the responses. Hopefully, someone knows of a way to use Smart Folders with multiple sessions, but that is the reason we have to use one session only. The lag shows most with tethering, and some when going back through images.
I know from all of the tech assistants that come through our studio, that this is a problem for a lot of photographers......

BH.
It sounds like you have some large scale activity going on.
Do you also have direct contact with Capture One for personalised support?
