Not Upgrading - In fact moving to an alternative
Just a note to the developers and people who make the marketing decisions. I've given up on this product, not because of the many technical niggles (ok, that is a little annoying), but more because I'm fed up with having to constantly log back into the account or being unable to use the product if the laptop isn't connecting to the internet at the approved interval. Perpetual in my expectation means I pay a bit more and it works when I need it, not a no cost rolling lease that need to be renewed periodically.
Add to this the reduction in seats per license from 3 to 2, and that closes the deal for me.
The software is good, really good, but so are other packages that are more orientated towards the user experience, so sadly I wave goodbye.

I found this frustrating also having to be connected to the internet for a "perpetual" license to work. Then today my "perpetual" license stopped working saying it's disabled. I been finding the competition replies to support requests a lot quicker. I had to install something different so I could keep working and now wonder how or if I can rescue all those edits locked up in capture one and into the new software I use.
Still waiting for support to get back to me.1 -
A "perpetual" license should also "protect" us users in the event C1 goes out of business, i.e. the software should work even if there is no server/counterpart on C1 side to confirm the license.
Don't know if this can be done using the Offline Activation?

I still don't have a reply from support, which, compared to Adobe, is poor. As I need the software to work, a quicker reply is a must. However, I have managed to get the key to work, and I have activated it offline to see if that makes it stick without being online constantly.
The slow response time has made me worry that the risk is too high if it stops working. Unfortunately, tethering for my camera is not well supported elsewhere, so the plan might be that I will need to change my kit, which is disappointing.1 -
Compared to 5 years ago, pay much more, get much less in return...
A lot of former LR users + higher prices, what the heck does the company do with all that extra money, apparently not scaling their support staff with their customer base or customer needs.
Has the M1 and Metal support been so costly?
Lack of timely support could partially be compensated with better software quality, but I do not have the impression quality has upped in the past years.
I've been a big fan of C1 in 2015 and following years, but I start to struggle too...

The license number (for activation) changed every year, so we have to activate every year.
Why if bought the Perpetual license???
Still using subscription but looking to have one for ever .0
