Mask will not show in red

FirstName LastName

I have my mask visibility set to on, I have it set to show in red, when I toggle the letter "m" to show the mask I am working on it will not show highlighted in any color.  It worked the past 3 months I've had the program but all of a sudden it has stopped working.

    Check your mask opacity setting is not somehow zero both in the Layer tool
    and under Masks in C1 Edit - Preferences - Appearance?
