NX500 is like NX1 (sensor and profile), why not support it? and here's how!
LoggedHi, I'm trying Capture One before I buy, but I may never do if it can't support the Samsung NX500. It's so silly because it would need exactly the same software support as with the NX1. Indeed, if I edit (binary editor) my .SRW files to replace a small 'NX500' string at the beginning with 'NX1', it just works fine! So it could be easily supported.
Hints for your developpers if anyone says it's too complicated or that ought to be done a few years ago and every developer back then has since left the company:
1 - copy NX1 profiles files (all five .fcrv and the single .icm, then edit the icm to replace two occurrences of NX1 with NX500) and rename all files to NX500
2 - For ImgCoreDll.dll, copy/refactor/whatever CSamsungNX1ImageRep and CSamsungNX1ModelFactory classes and replace any occurrence of NX1 by NX500.
3 - Write unit tests, let your CI rebuild, and voilà!
It can't be easier.

Hi Emmanuel,
Thank you for your feedback on Capture One. We appreciate the time you’ve taken to contribute to the development of the software.
I have sent your request to support Samsung NX500 to our Product Management team as something to consider in a future release. Hopefully, your feedback contributes toward a future version of Capture One.
Whilst we cannot comment on future releases, we take all suggestions on board. -
I just got a nice little Samsung EX1 Digicam. Btw there is a big "old" 2000-2015 Digicam trend for about one year now and it is getting bigger every day. So this is a very nice little Camera and I know a lot of ppl that use those... anyways sadly capture one still cant open the *.SRW files ;-)
