on top of that it tells me I'm not registered, this is not true.

So you gave them your login credentials?  If so I hope you've change your password on the real captureone.com.

Yeah, I laughed out loud at that bit myself.

Greg doesn't seem to understand what "paranoid" means - or at best, he just isn't very good at it...

Not a bright moment I'll admit.

Normally I'm TOO good at paranoia, I only realised after the password was 'not found'. The phishing site is well done, there is nothing obvious. And let's face it, do you check every url every time?

Needless to say,  I changed it right away. I use Bitwarden to store and generate passwords and never reuse a password... no cash was lost. ;-)

But yeah.... I bow my head in shame.  :-)

BTDT.  As long as you recognized the error and resolved it soonest all is good.

My wife has been reminding me how she wasn't sure about a link in an email and asked my opinion.  I assured her the link was fine.  It wasn't.  I missed an extra "l" (lower case L) in the domain name compared to the actual site.  That error required a changed password AND a replacement credit card.  The only good part was that we realized what happened and cancelled the original card number before any charges were placed.
