capture one
hello,
capture one is amazing software however, i am into the adobe family with photoshop and lightroom. nothing else. so if i switch to capture one how do i maintain my photoshop status? i do use photoshop for any extra edits that capture one and lightroom can't provide. it would mean to me that i would have to pay both subscriptions to stay up to date. that would be unreasonable. i am open to any ideas so i can move to capture one. thank you.

Hi Peter,
Out of curiosity, what is it that you prefer in C1 over LRs latest version?
To your question: Many who want to avoid Adobe seem to use Affinity Photo instead of Photoshop (which is way cheaper and similiarly capable), me included, though I don't usually do a lot outside C1.

My thoughts are the same as BeO's. I rarely leave Capture One, and when I do it's to do things in Affinity Photo that can't be done in C1. Examples: compositing, adding text, removing objects that C1 can't, applying odd effects. Also, if there are plug-ins you like, Affinity can handle most of the common ones that PS can. Affinity can also read PS files.
So for me, if you like Capture One, then go for it and either continue to subscribe to Adobe or buy a license for Affinity Photo and carry on.
A suggestion: Don't try to use both C1 and LR. You'll go crazy trying to master both and the edits you make in one generally won't be usable with the other unless you "bake them in" by converting to TIFF or JPEG.
