Exporting psd file to psd or tif and keeping the ps path, possible?

I have requested an outside service to knock-out with a path around products.  When I take these large files and want to make a smaller file Iunintenionally loose the Path for clients needs. The image has no background but I would still like to keep the path/channel .  can this be Done?

    To clarify further, I hope.  I ingested psd files with a Path in the file.  Besides exporting that original with the path,  is there a way to export a tif or jpg with the path attached!  Or is this a feature request?
