Running C21 Trial 14.4.1.6, bought a license, can't activate

I bought a license the other day for C21. I earlier downloaded and installed the trial version and successfully activated it. I want to activate the real version but I get an error saying: Unable to establish connection to the Capture One Activation server. Please try again later. I checked everything in the trouble shooting for this.The link to test the activation server does not even work.... My host file is empty, firewall off. What else can I check?

    Try going to your online account and confirm that the trial version is deactivated
    (if it is still there).
    Are you using this link to check the server status?

    When I click on it it says "Activation service is alive."
    What version of Windows are you running?

    It does not work for me. Tried 2 computers and my phone. I ended up uninstalling everything, rooting the regedit file of anything Capture One and Phase One and reinstalled, then activated offline. That worked. I am currently in Nepal so maybe that has something to do with it but even my Canadian proxy failed. It's solved but it cost me a few hours.
