Using v. 14.4.1.16 file locking bug on catalog (Fixed)
I have C1 installed on both an Intel iMac i9 and an M1 Mac mini. The catalogs are on a 24 TB RAID shared by the iMac over ethernet. My Sony
catalog was last opened on the Mac mini and now it will no longer open on the iMac as it 'thinks' it is still in use via the Mac mini. It isn't. I have even disconnected file sharing. The catalog seems to have a stuck record lock in place.
UPDATE: I opened the catalog's contents and removed the write lock manually. Who programmed the multi-user set up? Micky Mouse?

Edit after seeing your update: Capture One is NOT programed for simultaneous muti-user set-up. What made you think it was?
Not a bug. A catalog can only be opened by one instance of Capture One at a time. When opened a "lock file" named writelock is written inside the Catalog package. The file is removed when Capture One quits. If the catalog is copied when the file exists the copy will me marked as in use. If your machine crashes or a network store isn't available when Capture One quites the lock file won't be removed and Capture One will think the catalog is in use.
This is very easy to fix:
- Make sure Capture One is not running
- Right click on the .cocatalog file in Finder and select "Show Package Contents"
- Remove the empty file named writelock
- Re-launch Capture One
