Missing Features Compared to LR
I've been using Capture One 20 for the last few weeks, and I like Capture One's output quality (for Fuji raw files), layer tool, luma range and skin tone editor very much.
Meanwhile I seriously miss some QoL features available in Lightroom but absent from Capture One. Just to name a few:
-
edit history - I can *view & revert* to arbitrary edit steps by clicking entries in one panel, not messing with unintuitive "Reset" button scattered all over the place.
-
full side-by-side before / after view
-
sharpening radius / detail masking edge hint
-
auto upright
-
auto geolocation parsing & view on map
-
flexible secondary monitor view
I'm switching back to Lightroom because I'm able to edit photos more efficiently there. The degrade of detail quality is within acceptable range to me.
Let's hope that next major release of Capture One catches up.

It sounds like you are making a lot of use of LR features.
Maybe just ask LR to improve their image quality?
Personally, I prefer the options available for History backtracking using C1 variants for anything more than 2 or 3 steps back. However such matters are always very personal for most people.
When I used another application before I tried C1 it had both a full history trace AND the ability to save what C1 calls Variants. I found the full history useful but only for recent changes - i.e. 3 or 4 steps back. For anything else the "Variant" approach offered me more - not the least being about to put variants side by side on-screen or just toggle between the two and watch the changes appear and disappear that way.
There is a section of the forum with an official place to post enhancement suggestions to be considered for future releases. As it is official it is monitored. I suspect you have been unfortunate to add your suggestions to a thread of archive messages for older versions of C1. It might be a good idea to cut and paste the post into the other thread thus making it "officially visible" to the C1 staff.
